My wife & I own a 2002 Highlander and we love it! It just needed more interior room-- we bump elbows when we are both in front seats. I'm looking forward to a more fuel efficient version soon. Ours has a v-6 and accelerates nicely. Toyota: please develop more and better alternatives to gasoline! The Prius is nice but too tiny. Will the new Highlander get as good of mileage as the Prius? Thank you! Rick

No - the Highlander (Hybrid) will NOT get as good of mileage as the Prius. Why? Because it's bigger, because American's do not want to "bump elbows." Therefore, the HIgherlander is bigger, heavier, and more endowed with the creature comforts we demand. If you want good mileage, get a Prius. If you want to be coddled and swaddled, get the Highlander.
