From these pictures the cars exterior goes well with the theme that Toyota has been going for. The vehicles tend to lean towards the edge of cutesy with the recent additions of the Yaris, FJ cruiser, and now the redesigned corolla. From the front there is a definite similarity to the Yaris with the grille and lights, but with what looks to be like more room for an engine. The hatchback version reminds me of the Mazda 3, 5 door, but a bit more upward flow to the side of the vehicle. Although the exterior has recieved a makeover it leads me to wonder if they have improved the suspension or engine output to match all the other sporty sedans in this category. I personally drove a 1990 corrolla as my first car in high school, it was incredibly reliable, but a too much give in the suspension. The most recent model improved only slightly with a bit more pep and less body roll in the bends. I just hope this car improves on everything that makes the corolla fall under the category of economy sedan. Toyotas new platform looks to have promise, I hope that the rest of the car follows suit.
