Gears of War
Well Xbox 360’s killer app may have just arri You can’t tell anything until you have personally played a game. Well reviews have been coming from all over the net and they all agree this is Microsoft’s bet for coming early into the next gen console war. Sony might just have to bring some real awesome games to become the king of consoles. Microsoft can just relax now and hope that Halo 3 release goes according to plan, no delays whatsoever.

Each stage is memorable. Even as I write this a week after beating the campaign, I can recall dozens of “oh wow” moments, like the first time I encountered the shrieking wretches (that horrible noise they make will haunt you for days). Or when the blind, hulking berserker was stalking me by sound and smell alone. Or the part where I was defending my old home from a Locust onslaught (it felt like a smaller scale, more domesticated version of Lord of the Rings’ Battle of Helm’s Deep). Or when I looked at the face of an apartment complex, and dozens of drones were firing at me through the windows, their muzzle flashes strobe-lighting the darkness like we were on a CNN newscast, live from some war-torn third-world country. …. They all combine for an unforgettable adventure through 36 hectic, desperate hours of a group of soldiers’ lives.If I had some money I would surely get a Xbox 360 and a copy of Gears of war. This game is simply stunning. Definitely this game was worth the wait
A tad overated, but fun.
And if i were brazilian i certanly would buy a modchip and install myself instead pay 250Reais, or 120Dolars, in a game, that i certanly know that it worth, but not that much..

Having played this game for hours on end for the last week, I can say:
1. I know why Gears shattered sales records and replaced Halo 2 as the top title on Xbox Live. 2. I can see why so many critics have gushed about it and sent chocolates and love letters to CliffyB and Epic. 3. I think it's a really good game. 4. But not a great game. 5. The single player compaign is disappointingly short 6. There's no story, and the dialogue is truly bad. 7. The cut scenes are annoying. 8. The graphics are awesome, but here's just not much innovation beyond the next-gen visuals. 9. Gears is ridiculously hard, which I love. 10. It's an exciting ride, albeit a short-lived one. It's definitely worth the price of admission, but I wouldn't give a perfect score or even an A.

This game will be one of the games that can be improved and expanded. It could be the next great FPS.
I am personally a Halo fan but this game is pretty freakin awesome. Carry on dudes and dudets of gameland! |

I am normally a PC only gamer but this game changed my mind. I remember how furious I was when Halo came out for the Xbox instead of the PC and how much better it was on the PC (at least for me). However, after playing through the co-op campaign with a friend on his xbox 360 it seems that shooters do have certain aspects that PC's cannot replicate. While some say that it is not innovative I disagree. Gears of War has found a niche market in console gaming where the shooter shines. It utilizes all the controllers buttons in a way which lets the user duck for cover, roll out of the way, and other such techniques. Props to Gears of War, you've finally taken the PC FPS gaming monopoly and stolen a chunk for the consoles. The only con I would say about Gears of War is its short campaign. Though memorable and easy to replay, I wish that at least an hour or two of gaming would have been added to keep game going.
-The visuals are great -The storyline is great -The cut-scenes are visceral and comical -The dialog is great, though not amazing -The controls feel great -The action is intense -The storyline is a tad short
