I have a 2002 Honda Insight with over 110,000 miles on it, and I love its futuristic, super aerodynamic looks. Actually I had two 2002 Honda Insights. I was stopped for construction on the Interstate. Two women in a van were talking to each other and didn’t notice that traffic had stopped. They rear ended me and caved the back end all the way to the battery pack. I learned that my little Insight has a better impact rating than an SUV. I was relatively uninjured. So I love that too. Their insurance purchased a new 2002 Insight for me. I love the great gas mileage. It handles like a sports car. I love its Constantly Variable Transmission, so it’s always in the right gear. It has fantastic anti- skid breaking. The air conditioner is the best that I have ever had; and if you have it in economy mode. The engine stops running when sitting at a Red Light. No need in having the engine burning gasoline when just sitting there. You can load more stuff in the cargo compartment, than you would ever think would fit and still use the interior rear view mirror. It goes up mountain Interstate highways with power to spear. It is extremely reliable. I like all but two things about it. First it has a radio with a retro tape deck. The Japanese Insight has a modern radio with GPS navigator, and probably CD/DVD capability, which I wish that I had. The other thing is that it has no cruise control. This car drives so effortlessly that it is too easy to speed without realizing it. I keep getting speeding tickets and badly need a cruise control, before I lose my license. So far it shows no sign of getting old. It just keeps on going, and going, and going. Did I say I also love its futuristic, super aerodynamic looks?
