The VW Tiguan will be offered with a 1.4L 150 hp TSI motor and two versions of the 2.0L TFSI engine. One version would produce 170 hp and the other would produce 200 hp. As well, two versions of the same 2.0L TDI engine offered would produce 140 hp and 170 hp. Autobild also says that the Tiguan may be offered in both front- and 4Motion all-wheel drive. The Tiguan will be built in Germany, a move made by Volkswagen after German labour unions fought to keep production there.

Made in Germany, Tiguan's build quality is plain to see.

Park assist on the Tiguan will virtually park the vehicle without driver assistance. We may get the system in Australia if VW gives it the 'ok' and if it passes our laws. The interior is among the best put together irrespective of price and the exterior finish is of a high standard.

I don't consider any 4 door car as anthing but another compact whatever. VW wasted a good concept for another so-so whatever. I was really waiting for a good off road sports coupe -but the family oriented marketing dweebs once again mediocered another geat concept. Sell it to your mother - I don't want one.

Please tell me that the rear seats can be folded down flat. VW needs to be competing with the Subaru Outback. Think different.

think different my buttocks. just get in your outback and go. nobody is keeping you. vw does not need compete with flaming subaru outback, "my kinda town" my behind. just go, ok. take your outback and go to the outback never to heard from again. unless, of course if you happen to make any descent, genuine orgasm movies, then and only then should you let us know where you are, in bum-screwed outback, my kinda' town.

I hope the customer service in the U.S. becomes more like that in Europe! As for the quality control in Mexico whats up with that... VW's made in Mexico are made of cheaper quality material than the same care in Europe. Just ask a VW machanic in Germany and they will tell you so.

I've owned vw's (2) that were assembled in Mexico. Are you trying to tell me the Audi/VW parts on these cars are actually made in Mexico and not Germany like they say on them? If that was the case then wouldn't that be some sort of false advertisemet, misleading customers, or misrepresentation of some sort? Have YOU spoken to a current, German VW mechanic lately?

As this is essentially a Golf Plus albeit with 4X4, I hope VW gives us a front wheel drive version with DIESEL engines/ instead of a Golf ( I mean Rabbit)
Also regarding quality of Mexican Made VWs? I think that is debatable. MY Golf come from Brazil (2001 TDI) And I haven't seen anything that would distinuished it from a Euro VW.

What a pitty this car is another year before available.
I need to purchase a SUV within the next 7 weeks.
Choise is now between an X3 or RAV4, if the Tiguan was available, I would go for it!
